Dear Friends:

When pastor Terry Jones of Florida planned to make the anniversary of 9-11-2010 national "Burn the Qur'an"
day, American Muslims' response was to make it "Qur'an Education day." Imam Ahmad Shqeirat of Tempe Islamic Center,
in turn, sent an email to a group of local friends from the interfaith religious leaders asking them about the right Christian response to the Florida pastor's plan. The answer came firmly and swiftly: a call for a gathering in Tempe Islamic Center to "Honor all Scriptures." The gathering of "Children of Abraham" faiths took place in the center at
7:00 pm on 9-11-2010 with an overwhelming number of attendees. Religious leaders from the three faiths expressed their opposition to pastor Jones' plan, even though he did not carry out his plan.

A call for a follow up action from Rabbi Andrew Straus led to a meeting of 15 religious leaders and other members.
In that meeting Rick Love planted a blessed seed by calling us to develop "Ten Talking
Points" to highlight our common concerns for people of different faiths. That call led to a series of online and in-person discussions which was finalized in the "Seven Interfaith Resolutions" document that you can read and sign on this website.

We pray to God to see that this document be adopted by all religious leaders of Abrahamic Faiths as our first step.

We also pray to see this document adopted by other communities and countries as well. Amen.
